BC’s Scenic Crowsnest Highway 3 boasts an award-winning wine region, discover interesting craft breweries and unique distilleries, and there are plenty of opportunities to tease your senses along the route. Be sure to build in stops on your journey to really experience the local scene and enjoy the bounty of the region. What’s better than sipping something special while soaking up the sun and spectacular scenery.

In Hope, Mountainview Brewing Co. brews craft beer with fresh mountain water. Enjoy a meal and a local brew and take in one of Mountainview’s many events including yoga, live music and more.

Furthest west, the Similkameen/South Okanagan is known for its hot, dry climate, perfect for luscious big bold reds, crisp whites and dry delicious Rosé. With almost every grape varietal and many fruit wine options, there is much to explore.

Between Keremeos and Osoyoos you will find the wines and ciders of the Similkameen Independent Winegrowers. Take in the views from winery patios along the Upper Bench with spectacular views of K Mountain rising above the rows of vines. Visit the cideries and wineries mid-valley and enjoy tasting experiences right in vineyards and orchards. Head west to the southern valley to experience wine caves and river-hugging vineyards with picnic areas overlooking the Similkameen River.

In Osoyoos, enjoy wineries each with something special to offer, including unique tasting experiences and sought-after wines. Explore award-winning wines paired perfectly with breathtaking views of the dramatic desert landscape. Take a day or two and book a tour to experience all that the region has to offer. Osoyoos also has an incredible craft cider, spirits, and budding beer industry which is all yours to discover.

Boundary Country is home to British Columbia’s first Female Owned and Operated Craft Distillery. True North Distilleries located in Grand Forks, supports local growers and is dedicated to keeping operations as low impact as possible, even recycling their grain. Check them out for handmade organic spirits including whiskeys, gins, absinthes and Canada’s only artisanal rum!
